And there are a growing number of mid-career ingenious students who have worked in the real world and realized how boring it can be or finished raising their children and its time to rocket launch on a second stage.

We are looking to fund a pilot project: hiring mid-career students this summer and have them help retired UTD professionals update their various skills and get help finding amazing jobs.

Welcome to our showcase of ArtSciLab alumni, where each story reflects the impact of the “Five R’s” approach developed by former co-director Kathryn Evans in the post-Covid era, we as a lab implement:

Recognition of member contributions and research, Recruitment of exceptional talent, Retention of students and faculty through engagement, Resilience in overcoming challenges, and Rocket Launch, our metaphor for launching careers post-graduation. These stories not only reflect our commitment to developing talent and inspiring creativity, but also showcase how ArtSciLab serves as a springboard for impressive accomplishments in both personal and professional life.

Goals and Objectives 

Career Plan Development: Ensure every student has a personalized career development plan within one month of joining the lab. 

Internships: Facilitate summer internships aligned with individual career goals. 

Job Placement: Guarantee at least one job offer for each student before graduation. 

Support for International Students: Address unique challenges, such as visa sponsorship and cultural adjustments.

Public Speaking: Giving every student an open mic to practice public speaking.
