Creative Technology Researcher

Anupama is an educator and a social entrepreneur from India. As Co-founder and Director of Workbench Projects Innovation Foundation; a public laboratory, makerspace and a Fab-Lab, she nurtures innovation mindset in the startup ecosystem. She is committed to Yuva Chintana Foundation (YCF), a small homegrown not-for-profit organization working in the grassroots in the field of Education, Empowerment & Employability and Arts & Culture in India. She has a Masters in Business Administration and Gallery Studies & Critical Curating from UK. Currently a full-time doctoral student in the ATEC Program (Arts Technology and Emerging Communications) in the School of Arts Humanities and Technology at University of Texas, Dallas, US.

Her research lies in the intersection of creativity studies, innovation studies and higher education. She is invested in studying both technology that is creative and also practitioners who creatively use technology in the innovation industry to determine the ‘role and value’ of creative technologists (practitioners who have an integrated thinking and are equipped to use tools from the arts, computer science, design, engineering and humanities). She believes that creative technologists’ as hybrids help catapult the innovation function, remedying ‘innovation anxiety’ in both the creative and innovation industry.
