Patricia Olynyk

Patricia Olynyk is an artist, writer, and educator whose work explores science and technology-related themes and the ways in which social systems and institutional structures shape our understanding of the world. She is based in the College  and Graduate School of Art at Washington University in St. Louis, and holds affiliate appointments in the School of Medicine, Medical Humanities, Performing Arts, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Olynyk works across disciplines that include Time Based Arts, Medical Humanities, and Environmental Science, and her research topics range from the affect of immersive spaces to speculative storytelling. For fifteen years, Olynyk has co-chaired the NY LASER Talks program with Ellen K. Levy for Leonardo/ISAST, a branch of the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology.
