Collins Mbwika Mwange

Head of IT & Cybersecurity

Collins Mwange is an MS Cybersecurity and Policy student at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and the founder of Code & Security Consulting (CSC), a software and cybersecurity startup. He also heads IT and Cybersecurity for the ArtSciLab and serves as a Global Ambassador for UT Dallas’ International Center under the Office of International Initiatives responsible for Delegations & Diplomacy.

As the head of IT and cybersecurity for ArtSciLab, Collins is responsible for managerial duties like developing and implementing strategies that support ArtSciLab, Bass School, and UTD’s mission in general. This involves managing IT operation costs, aligning ArtSciLab’s investment in security with its risk appetite, and advising on the optimal use of technology to ensure maximum returns. Additionally, he is responsible for supporting the hands-on development of software applications, security, and management of ArtSciLab’s digital assets. He holds a BS Computer Science degree from Maseno University.

As an International Center Global Ambassador (ICGA) for UTD, Collins represents the student body to external constituents. He volunteers within the Office of International Initiatives (II) where he handles delegations and diplomacy.

While an MS Cybersecurity student at UTD, Collins [https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8572-2066] has conducted research in applications security (AppSec), authored, published (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10527296/), and orally presented his research findings at the 12th International Symposium on Digital Forensics and Security (ISDF 2024), held in San Antonio, TX.

Finally, Collins is a member of several professional organizations such as IEEE, ISACA, ISC2, and BiT. He has been awarded scholarships by half of those organizations.
