Antonia Solari Moran
Educator | Compassion Science Researcher | Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator
Antonia Solari Moran is a high school English teacher who recently earned an MS in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience from UT Dallas to broaden her understanding of the brain’s inner workings, particularly in the context of Compassion Science.
While a student, she interned at the UT Dallas Center for Brain Health on the Kind Minds project, examining the impact of a kindness curriculum on parents and their children. She also completed a certification in Applied Compassion Training through Stanford’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, which further deepened her understanding of compassion’s ability to strengthen the body and mind. She is particularly interested in the fusion of compassion science and literature and how this union can enhance student learning and well-being. She is a mindfulness meditation facilitator and co-founded a faculty mindfulness program and Student Wellness Club. She earned a BA in French and English from UCLA and an MA in English from Stanford University.
Antonia and Roger will be submitting a funding proposal to Templeton. The Templeton Foundation, founded in 1987 by Sir John Templeton, supports interdisciplinary research and promotes conversations addressing the most complex questions facing humanity today all while aiming to inspire awe and wonder.
